What Disciplines do we shoot?

At Chester Pass SSAA we engage in a variety of handgun, rifle and shotgun disciplines. A detailed description of each discipline can be found on our disciplines page.
Joining our club is a fairly straight forward process. First, you'll need to become a member of the SSAA national organisation, which can be completed online.
You will then be required to attend and shoot at the club on three separate occasions under the supervision of a Range Officer.
To complete your application, you'll need a nomination from a current club member and two personal references from people who have known you for at least two years. If you do not currently hold a firearms licence, a National Police Clearance will also be required.

How do I become a member
Do I need to be A SSAA member?

SSAA membership is a requirement as it is our parent affiliate organisation. In addition, SSAA offer great value insurance on firearms.
Do I need my own Firearm License?

You do not need a firearms license to come down and have a go under supervision.
How Often do I need to shoot to keep club support?

Six times per year for the first club supported firearm and four times for every subsequent discipline. Additionally at least once every 12 weeks.
How do I get club support for a firearm?

For long arms (eg a .22LR rifle) -as soon as you are accepted as a member. For handguns you can receive club support after being a member for six months. Ask a committee member for the Club Support forms. Applications are heard at monthly committee meetings.
